This article is aimed at both NFL and Lady Gaga fans who plan on watching the half time show during the Super Bowl. The purpose is for the NFL to explain that the conversation that allegedly took place never happened and she should feel free to do what she wants. This article uses ethos as a rhetorical device because it uses the NFL as a sense of authority and who you are supposed to listen to. They also use references to the New York times which people look to for their information. The media used is magazine and internet because Bleacher Report is written like a magazine except it is online. They use reading and writing as the language mode in this sports article. The design helps the purpose because it is short and they use direct quotes to prove that they never said the things they were accused of. It might be hard to apply this to most things except tv shows. The sports shows talk about this anyways so it is possible that they could expand on these topics. This topic would be very easy to talk about on TV because many people are interested in this topic.
